NEW DATE: Mt Hood Snow Trip ~ 2/20/12 ~ 11:00AM - 3:00PM

February 20th is our annual trip up to Mount Hood to play in the snow. We will be going to our normal

site at White River Sno-Park (THIS IS NOT THE BOY SCOUT LODGE AT WHITE RIVER).

White River West Sno-Park a free undeveloped snow play area at White River on Hwy 35 about 4

miles north of Hwy 26/Hwy 35 Junction (Sno-Park permit required).

We park in the lot and head up the trail following the glacier run off that comes down White River.

You will need to carry in everything you need for several hours of fun in the snow. Be Prepared!

A change of dry clothes is mandatory for safety for the boys. Pack a lunch, the clothes in a day pack.

We hike in about a mile up a gentle slope to the sledding area.

Some items you might think about packing up the hill with you....
1) FILLED WATER BOTTLES FOR EACH PERSON (staying hydrated = staying safe)
2) Camp Chairs (there is nowhere to sit other than the ground)
3 Some firewood to throw on the pile.
4) Change of clothes, blanket, snow gear, sled
5) Lunch

I carry our stuff up the hill on a plastic sled dragged behind us.

The entire family is welcome, come prepared to have fun in the snow.
